We are thrilled you’ve decided to join us for an Empowered to Connect Parent Training Course!
Please pay close attention to the following details.
CONNECT: Thursday May 31 – Aug 2 2018 (skipping July 5th) 6-8pm
(post adoptive/foster parents)
On Attendees and Childcare:
Please keep in mind that we do require that married couples attend the training together, and we ask that all participants commit to attend the entire training. Singles are also welcome, but we do ask that they make an effort to identify someone from their support team (i.e., a parent, friend, etc.) and encourage them to attend and learn with them. We understand that from time to time, unforeseen circumstances will require a parent to miss a class, but we ask that you make every possible effort to attend all of the classes as the material is designed to build on itself and therefore an understanding of all the material is critically important. The ETC Parent Training Course classes are filled first come, first serve and have a limited enrollment due to course material and class participation.
Childcare is available for babies through 6th grade children. In ETC Kids, children will participate in games, stories, and activities that will teach proactive life skills and build fun memories. These lessons will align with your learning in the ETC Parent Training Course.
ETC is subsidized by local churches and organizations, so we are able to offer childcare at the rate of
$45 per child for the entirety of the 9 week course.
On Preparation and Homework:
Before the class begins, we request that you purchase and read Dr Karyn Purvis’s The Connect Child. This is the pinnacle evidence-based work from which the Empowered to Connect and TBRI material was developed. Throughout the course, we will provide additional resources that you will use for study.
In addition, we want to make you aware that there will be weekly homework assignments that you will be required to complete and turn in. These homework assignments are critically important aspects of the overall training and learning process. We are fully aware that these requirements make the ETC Parent Training a very significant commitment on your part, but we believe you will agree that the commitment and investment required will be completely worth it in the end.
$100 per couple
Included in this cost is all required resources/materials. Childcare is an additional $45/child.
(see above for info on ETC Kids)
There is no cost for the support member of a single parent to attend.
If you simply cannot afford the fee for the training, please let us know, as a limited amount of financial assistance is available.
