Director of Training

Becca McKay earned a Master’s of Social Work from Union University in 2016. Becca was a program specialist when MFCC first opened its doors. She wore a variety of hats including child therapist and became a TBRI® Practitioner in 2016.

Then, she became a school social worker for an elementary school for 3 years where she worked in a behavior support office. She led the team in implementing a trauma informed, restorative approach to discipline that reduced suspensions and other punitive discipline methods. She was able to provide staff trainings and coaching to teachers who were working with students with a variety of needs in the classroom.

Becca is excited to return to Empowered to Connect in a new role, creating, curating, and communicating content to support families and communities along the journey. She is passionate about high quality training because it was an ETC training years ago that shifted the way she sees kids, behavior, and the path forward.

When she’s not working Becca enjoys walks with her husband Rico and their two pups. She also has family members living on 3 different continents and loves to travel.
