Lauren is a lifelong Memphian with a passion for serving children and families in this city. She graduated from the University of Memphis in 2005 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, and also received a Master’s Degree in Community Agency Counseling from the University of Memphis in 2008. Since receiving her degree, Lauren has worked with children and teenagers in a residential treatment setting with emotional and behavioral difficulties. This is where Lauren began to learn about the prevalence of trauma among these children and how it impacts them. Lauren is certified in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and is passionate in helping children and families to overcome their trauma symptoms. Lauren has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2013.
Lauren and her husband have a son who is currently in foster care and awaiting to join their family officially through adoption. They are also currently on the waiting list for an infant adoption with an agency here in Memphis. Lauren has both professional and personal experience with adoption and foster care, and is so excited to be a part of the MFCC family to serve children and families in these populations.
